Shakur, in a great performance, has his Bishop evolve from nice guy to a down-and-out gangsta who has no qualms about killing his own kind or framing Q for his own crimes.

The change is too abrupt and despite the high-octane factor, Juice eventually enters the territory of standard crime flick. A Hitchcockian moment in an elevator is perhaps the film’s signature set piece. Like Slam, Juice suggests that the black man has become his own killer. It’s a brave comment on Dickerson’s part and that is why Bishop’s downfall is so sympathetic.
